Job description

Position Title: Certified Waste Water Treatment Operator

Location: Bristol, TN

Project Solutions Inc. is seeking a qualified Waste Water Treatment Operator for an exciting opportunity in Bristol, TN.

Position Overview:

The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical treatment of wastewater. This position will execute policies and assignments from corporate management, comply with regulations from state & federal agencies, and work with plant management. Success requires a high degree of independent judgment and the development of continuous improvement programs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Perform plant rounds, inspect, monitor, troubleshoot, test, and document processes.
  2. Operate and adjust pumps, motors, feeders, and other equipment to maintain operations.
  3. Maintain logs, reports, and perform calculations related to plant activities.
  4. Mix and add treatment chemicals according to regulations.
  5. Maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and service plant machinery and equipment.
  6. Collect samples, perform laboratory tests, monitor results, and document findings.
  7. Perform general plant maintenance and groundskeeping.
  8. Plan, organize, and schedule workload effectively.
  9. Collaborate professionally with staff and onsite teams.
  10. Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.
  11. Follow PSI policies and procedures.
  12. Attend meetings and events as required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Pass a background check to access the facility.
  • Hold a Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator, Level 2 license in Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, or Kentucky.
  • Operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Perform and interpret laboratory tests for operational adjustments.
  • Possess knowledge of mechanical, biological, and chemical processes in wastewater treatment.
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in physically demanding environments.
  • Pass a pre-employment background check.
