Qualifications

Education

Degree in Visual Disabilities, Secondary or Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Human/Social Services, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience

• Two years of experience in vision rehabilitation preferred.
• Familiarity with blindness and/or broader disabilities issues is a plus.

License/Certification

Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT).

Additional Helpful Certifications

COMS, TSVI, CATIS, CLVT, DBS Access Technology Endorsement.

Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with assistive technology and compensatory skills.
• Possess a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Possess effective organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to project a positive, compassionate image to clients, co‑workers and the public.

Physical Demands

• Independently navigate the work environment and the LCF service community.
• Moderate ability to move and lift items, usually ranging up to 25 lbs.
• Prolonged standing on occasion.
• Prolonged sitting at work station.

Requirements

• Possess or be able to utilize reliable transportation.
• Must pass Level II background check.
