Job summary

West Milwaukee Veterinary Care is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our dynamic veterinary team. You will support veterinarians in exams and surgeries, perform technical nursing duties, monitor anesthesia, and help manage patient care in both the exam room and surgical suite.

The ideal candidate holds a current CVT license, is proficient in anesthesia, pharmacology, laboratory work, and has strong client communication skills.

Qualifications

• CVT license in good standing.
• Experience with anesthesia, pharmacology, laboratory procedures, and patient nursing care.
• Strong communication and client education skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with veterinary medical records management.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document patient histories in medical records.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments.
• Administer medications and place IV catheters.
• Induce anesthesia and monitor during surgical procedures.
• Perform radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging.
• Maintain sterile technique and surgical setup.
• Monitor recovery and provide discharge instructions.
• Document medical records in the practice management system.
