Job summary

VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Animal Hospital (CAVES) in Concord, NH, is seeking a compassionate Certified Veterinary Technician to join a busy Surgery team. This hands-on role involves anesthesia, surgery assistance, and general patient care in a 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital with AAHA accreditation.

Qualifications

• CVT, RVT or LVT with hands-on experience in surgery and anesthesia.
• Experience in emergency/critical care settings is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Strong communication with veterinarians, pet parents and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Administers and monitors anesthesia
• Prepares patients for surgery, including clipping, scrubbing, and positioning
• Sterilizes, packs, and organizes surgical instruments and equipment
• Places IV catheters, performs venipuncture, and manages fluid therapy
• Monitors patients through recovery, managing pain and identifying complications
• Performs radiography and diagnostic imaging positioning
• Maintains accurate medical records and logs
• Communicates clearly with veterinarians, clients, and the surgical team
