Certified Veterinary Technician - ICU - Overnight Shift (3/12s! Hiring Bonus!)

Bridgetown Veterinary Emergency and Referral (BVER) is a specialty animal hospital located in Portland, Oregon. Our team includes highly skilled veterinarians specializing in Emergency/Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Ophthalmology, supported by dedicated technicians and support staff.

We are hiring Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our overnight ICU team! We value a compassionate, seasoned team that prioritizes a healthy hospital culture, high standards of patient care, and team member wellbeing.

Who are we looking for?

We seek experienced overnight Certified Veterinary Technicians for our ICU department. The position involves three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Triage and assessment of cases, including alerting DVM of critical patients
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by DVM
• Support and educate pet owners
• Maintain accurate medical records

Required Skills

• Valid CVT certification in Oregon
• Prior experience in emergency or specialty veterinary hospitals
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment with composure
• Confidence in life-saving procedures such as CPR, chest taps, and urinary deobstruction
• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills; advanced catheter and sampling line placement preferred
• Experience assisting with surgical and sedated procedures, including management of unstable patients (additional anesthesia training provided)
