Job summary

VCA Atwood Animal Hospital in Cranston, RI is seeking a certified veterinary technician to provide patient care, treatment support, anesthesia, and surgery assistance in a busy general practice. This hands-on role offers mentorship, modern diagnostic tools, and a collaborative team culture.

Full-time schedule includes four 10-hour shifts with rotating Saturdays; compensation ranges from $24 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience and licensure.

Qualifications

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) required.
• Experience in a veterinary hospital setting preferred.
• Comfort with anesthesia and surgery support.

Responsibilities

• Performs and assists with physical exams and vitals.
• Administers vaccines, meds, and treatments with accurate dosing.
• Places IV catheters and venipuncture; manages fluid therapy.
• Inducts and monitors anesthesia during procedures.
• Assists in surgery and instrument preparation.
