Position Type: Full-Time (Structured 4-Day Work Week)
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour (Commensurate with experience and certification status)

About Us

Fredonia Veterinary Clinic is an independently owned, AAHA-accredited mixed animal hospital that has proudly served southeastern Wisconsin for over 40 years. Our dynamic 8-DVM practice provides high-quality care to companion animals, equine patients, and farm animals. We practice Fear Free methods to ensure a low-stress environment for our patients and staff alike. We believe your career should empower you, not exhaust you, which is why we emphasize structured teamwork and work-life balance through a standard 4-day work week.

What You’ll Do

Your primary role will be dedicated to small animal nursing, with a heavy emphasis on surgical preparation, advanced monitoring, and patient safety:

  • Anesthesia Mastery: Confidently induce, monitor, and recover small animal patients for a variety of surgical or dental procedures.
  • Patient Nursing Care: Place IV catheters, manage fluid therapy, calculate precise drug dosages, and utilize advanced clinical equipment (such as our therapy laser).
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Perform digital radiography, collect diverse lab samples, and run comprehensive in-house bloodwork.
  • Client Service: Act as a critical liaison to educate pet owners on detailed treatment plans and post-operative discharge instructions.
  • Note: While your daily focus is small animal, you will enjoy working in a vibrant mixed-animal environment alongside our dedicated equine team!
What We’re Looking For
  • Certification: Active, good-standing certification as a Veterinary Technician in Wisconsin (CVT), OR recent graduates from an AVMA-accredited program who are VTNE-eligible / pending board exam results.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency (or a desire to be mentored) in small animal anesthesia monitoring, patient recovery, and surgical prep.
  • Values: A firm commitment to upholding the high patient care protocols required by AAHA standards.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative, positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-species setting.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
  • Predictable Schedule: Maintain an incredible work-life balance with a structured 4-day work week and no overnight on-call shifts.
  • Modern Facility: Gain experience using top-tier veterinary tools, including digital X-rays, ultrasound, and surgical lasers.
  • Professional Growth: We actively encourage continuous learning with annual CE allowances, paid license renewals, and dedicated study support/mentorship for board-eligible technicians.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy medical and dental insurance options, retirement matching, and generous employee pet care discounts (covering your small animals and horses!).
