What You’ll Do
Role

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you’ll play a vital role in patient care, client communication, and supporting our veterinarians and assistants. You should be confident and proficient in:

  • Venipuncture & IV catheter placement
  • Administering vaccines and medications
  • Patient surgical monitoring and anesthesia
  • Drug calculations
  • Dental prophylaxis
  • General technical duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician
Schedule & Compensation
  • Hours: 32-34 hours/week Monday-Friday: 8:30 am-5:00 pm. Every other Saturday, with a half-day off during the week. Extended shifts (7:30 am-6:00 pm) on Mondays and Wednesdays.
  • Pay: $22 - $25/hour, based on experience

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing skills
  • Patience and composure in stressful and medical crisis situations
  • Ability to give SQ, IM, and IV injections
  • Knowledge of drugs, anesthesia, and patient recovery
  • English language proficiency for reasoning, reading, and communication
  • Confidence around pets

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • State licensing
  • 1+ years veterinary experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, lift up to 50+ pounds, and endure hospital environment conditions
  • Sufficient ambulatory skills and sensory abilities

Travel: Minimal, possibly for vendor visits and education.
