Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
• Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms.
• Laboratory procedures including but not limited to hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals.
• Proficient in dental prophylaxis.

• Obtain medical histories and symptoms from clients.
• Conduct laboratory procedures.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and ensure safety protocols.
• Administer medications and monitor anesthesia.

Sierra Animal Hospital is located in Apollo Beach, Florida just 20 miles south of Tampa. We are an AAHA accredited hospital providing veterinary care to dogs and cats. We are seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our growing team and help ensure we are providing those great experiences. When you join our organization as a Veterinary Technician, you gain access to a peer network of over 5000 individuals, CE allowance, and Learning & Development programs to help you meet your career goals.

• Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms
• Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals
• Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members
• Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring
• Proficient in dental prophylaxis

Position Requirements:

• Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
• Associates degree in Veterinary Technology
