We are currently seeking a Certified Transmission Technician to join our service department. As a Certified Transmission Technician, you will specialize in diagnosing, servicing, and repairing complex transmission systems on Ford vehicles. You’ll be expected to perform precision work while also being open to continuous training and development, including traveling out of state for week-long manufacturer-sponsored courses. At Community Ford, training is a cornerstone of success, and technicians must be willing to learn and be coached regularly.
We offer relocation assistance for Certified Transmission Technicians:
Up to $1,500 towards first month's rent
$3,000 for moving expenses

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35 - $40 per flare rate hour based on previous experience and qualifications.
Work Requirements:
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM; 1 Saturday per month required
Ability to Commute: Bloomington, IN (Required)
Work Location: In person
Willingness to travel out of state for 1-week training sessions is required
Diagnose and repair manual and automatic transmissions and driveline systems
Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and accurately
Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to evaluate transmission performance
Maintain expert knowledge of Ford transmission systems and update as new models and technology are released
Execute warranty repairs according to Ford manufacturer guidelines
Communicate with Service Advisors about diagnosis, estimated completion time, and repair needs
Maintain a clean work area and comply with safety protocols
2+ years of certified transmission or powertrain technician experience preferred
Ford Transmission Certification strongly preferred
Previous Ford dealership experience is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of driveline diagnostics, repair procedures, and service bulletins
B-Level or higher mechanical qualifications, including electrical and engine diagnostics
Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic software and tools
Solid communication and customer service skills
Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and train consistently
Ability to travel for mandatory manufacturer training
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Must pass a drug screening. This is a drug-free workplace
