Job summary

Stanfield Elementary School in Stanfield, North Carolina is seeking a Title I Tutor (Certified) to provide targeted tutorial services to students, under supervision of the principal. This is a 20 hours per week, temporary position through May 31, 2027, with partial benefits and compensation at $25.00 per hour.

Reports to the Principal; duties include tutoring groups or individuals, reinforcing subject material, building study skills, and supporting student confidence.

Qualifications

• Certified: Must hold valid NC teaching license.
• Ability to provide group or individual tutoring sessions.
• Ability to support student learning and motivation.
• Familiarity with K-12 curriculum and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic assistance to assigned tutees, either in a group or individually
• Help students develop positive attitudes toward learning and studying
• Help students develop self-confidence, raise self-concept, and reduce anxiety or fear of failure in academic work
• Help students develop the study skills necessary for academic success
• Establish and maintain rapport with the assigned student(s)
• Serve as a role model for students being served
