Job description

Responsibilities

This is a full time Sunday-Thursday 10a-6p position.

The purpose of this salaried, exempt CTRS position is to promote a therapeutic environment for all residents by assessing recreational preferences, creating and implementing innovative group and individualized recreation programming, maintaining timely documentation, and enhancing quality of life through individualized person-centered interventions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change and Loving Relationships by bringing these values to life in the organization.

  • To plan and lead group and individual activities

  • Maintain and record quarterly and annual progress reports

  • Keep daily statistics

  • Complete initial resident assessment

  • Assist in decorating of facility for holidays and events

  • Assist in the selection, planning and implementation of special events

  • Maintain supplies in an orderly and safe manner

  • Assist in selection and ordering of supplies

  • Attend plan of care and physiatry meetings

  • Attend in service training sessions

  • Perform any duties relevant to the function of the department

  • Maintain flexible work schedule to assist in needed situations or emergencies

  • As assigned by supervisor will act as an instructor for recreation students and provide all necessary supervision/hands on experience in order to complete and fulfill fieldwork assignment

  • Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator
Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy

  • Certification in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy
Experience
  • One year experience
  • Experience working with physically and cognitively challenged children preferred

Salary:

$62,400.00/Yr. - $66,000.00 Yr.
