Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES in PTECH is seeking a 1.00 FTE Teaching Assistant to support instructional services under a licensed teacher. The position requires working with diverse students and may include implementing specialized instruction and maintaining records.

Teaching Assistants provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher and complete related work as required. The duties of this position may require specific skills and abilities based on the students’ needs and/or program, including but not limited to:

Certification is required by the New York State Education Department - \"Any person employed, as a teaching assistant, shall hold of one of the following credentials: temporary license, continuing certificate; or a Level I, II, III or Pre-Professional certificate. However, if an individual holds a teaching, pupil personnel, or administrative certificate, he or she need not also obtain a temporary license, continuing certificate, Level I, II, III or Pre-Professional certificate to serve as a teaching assistant, unless required by the employing district.\"

Essential elements of the position may require specialized knowledge and/or experience in the field and/or trade subject. Depending on the course there may be a requirement of successful completion of specialized training and/or safety certifications.
