Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist at Mease Dunedin to join the clinical team. This full-time role supports the perioperative process under RN supervision, ensuring sterile technique and efficient operating room readiness.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, instruments, and supplies; coordinating specimens; and assisting in patient transport. Eligible candidates hold a recognized Surgical Technology program and NBSTSA/NCCT certification, with BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.
