Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team. The role includes passing sterile articles, retracting tissue, counting specimens, and maintaining asepsis under supervision. A formal surgical tech program graduation and certification are required.

Two years of open-heart experience and CV procedure familiarity are preferred. A sign-on bonus may be offered to eligible full-time candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate is required.
• Graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program is required.
• Certified Surgical Tech Certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon by passing sterile articles, retracting tissue, counting and handling of surgical specimens.
• Remains alert to and safeguards against patient injury from electrical/mechanical hazards while guarding asepsis.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

Minimum:

• High School Graduate
• Graduation from a formal accredited surgical technician training program.

Required Experience:

• none

Preferred:

• Two years surgical technician experience
• 2 years’ experience with Open Hearts
• Experience with CV procedures

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Surgical Tech Certification
