Job summary

Methodist Hospital in Saint Louis Park, MN, seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support our Operating Room team. The CST works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, using critical thinking, precision, and care to assist with procedures and instrument handling.

New grads are welcome. This non-union 0.9 FTE day shift position includes benefits and a competitive hourly salary range, with call and holiday rotation as required by departmental need.

Qualifications

• Current NBSTSA or NCCT certification.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• SPD experience with cross-training to Sterile Processing.

Methodist Hospital is a fast-paced environment, where the CST practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity, and caring. Crucial skills include:

• Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure the safety of patients.

Work Schedule:

• Day/Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with rotating weekends per departmental need, including up to every other weekend. Call may be required on off shifts and weekends per departmental need, and this position will participate in holiday rotation.

Required Qualifications:

• Current certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently validated CPR skills or BLS certification.
• SPD experience with cross-training to Sterile Processing.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period) day shift position, working in Saint Louis Park, MN. The full salary range for this position is $37.43-$50.65 per hour, based on experience and internal equity, plus shift differentials. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
