Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Main Operating Room in Elmhurst, IL. This full-time role runs 6:45am–3:15pm with on-call rotation and requires precise instrument handling and collaboration with the surgical team.

You will prepare and pass instruments, ensure sterility, and support the surgeon’s needs during procedures. Minimum program completion and CPR certification are required, with certification in surgical technology preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical technology program
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Previous experience in surgery or on-the-job experience
• Certification in surgical technology preferred

Responsibilities

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies for procedures based on physician requests; exchanges drug trays under licensed staff supervision; inspects and cares for surgical instrumentation and equipment.
• Performs scrub responsibilities per physician preference; anticipates surgeon needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, and irrigation during procedures.
• Provides a safe environment and communicates effectively with patients across all ages (pediatric to geriatric)

Position Highlights

• Position: Surgical Technologist - Main Operating Room
• Location: Elmhurst, IL
• Full time/Part time: Full Time, 40 hours/week
• Hours: 6:45am-3:15pm, on call rotation required

What You Will Do

• Identifies and obtains the required surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures based on physicians request and the needs of patient; exchanges drug trays as needed under the direction of licensed medical staff. Inspects, properly cares for and handles surgical instrumentation and equipment appropriately.
• Performs scrub responsibilities according to physician's preference and hospital policies and procedures. Anticipates, and is attentive to, the surgeon's needs for instruments, ligatures, sponges, irrigation, etc. during the surgical procedure.
• Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide a safe environment and communicate effectively with all age groups of patients – pediatric through geriatric.
