Job summary

At SCA Health, a part of Optum, we are hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support our ambulatory centers. The CST will function as a scrub person during operative and invasive procedures, prepare instruments, and assist with post-procedure room turnover to ensure efficient surgeries and patient safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited CST program, and CST certification; a current BLS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• Prior Experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures.
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.
• Assist with post procedure cleaning of the operative or other invasive procedure room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Graduate or equivalent

Graduate of Surgical Technologist Program

Current Surgical Technologist certification

Prior CST experience preferred

BLS certification within 90 days or current BLS
