Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist from an accredited CST program.
  • 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education required.

Responsibilities

  • Department: Surgery Services
  • Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift - 6am-2:30pm or 6:30am-3pm, Monday to Friday, Call requirements.
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent Evansville
  • Location: 3700 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN
What You Will Do

Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. Acceptable certifications include American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Surgical Tech credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire or transfer date.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, OR an Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

MUST BE A CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST FROM AN ACCREDITED CST PROGRAM.

MUST HAVE CARDIOVASCULAR OPERATING ROOM EXPERIENCE.
