AdventHealth is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the night shift in Littleton, Colorado. The role involves assisting surgeons, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring supplies and equipment are ready for procedures.

You will work with a team to support patient safety, infection control, and efficient operating room turnover. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for eligible candidates.

Formación

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate degree or technical/vocational training in Surgical Technology preferred.
• 2+ years of technical experience in the field preferred; 1+ years relevant experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required; CST certification required and NBSTSA CST or NCCT TS-C OR Technician in Surgery acceptable.

Responsabilidades

• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and communicates with the circulating nurse during procedures.
• Assembles supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Supports satisfaction initiatives and maintains relationships with physicians and staff.
• Monitors aseptic technique and corrects breaks in technique.
• Promotes a safe environment and follows infection control practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

$10,000 Sign on Bonus for Eligible Candidates Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and keeps the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure. Maintains high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment. Assembles all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure. Supports customer and employee satisfaction activities; maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff; and responds to complaints in a timely manner. Monitors aseptic technique of the entire surgical team and takes immediate corrective action for any breaks in technique. Identifies and reports environmental concerns to management and ensures adherence to regulatory standards and policies. Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment and assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Promotes a safe environment and takes appropriate action in emergency situations, controlling hazards that may endanger patients, visitors, and employees. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, uses PPE appropriately, and performs hand washing according to policy, adhering to all infection control practices. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives. Provides assistance and support to members of the surgical team as needed. Assists the team with safe and efficient operating room turnover times and directs ancillary personnel during room turnover. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required] Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation. [Required] Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare industry. [Required] Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies to hand surgeons the correct tools during surgeries. [Required] Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictional levels. [Required] Ability to understand and process surgeon dictated instructions and directions. [Required] Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required] Ability to consistently demonstrate clear communication skills, strong anticipatory skills, and concentration to detail. [Required] Assembly of mechanical devices and knowledge of fundamental human anatomy. [Required] Must be able to work well with multiple team members. [Required] Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule and adapt to change. [Required] Organizational skills, customer relations, verbal and interpersonal skills. [Required] Proficiency in grammar/spelling, and the ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. [Required] Keyboarding (manual) and computer (visual) skills. [Required] Ability to multitask and possess excellent communication skills. [Required]

Education:

High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Associate [Preferred] Technical/Vocational School [Preferred] Field of Study: Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved/accredited school for Surgical Technology

Work Experience:

2+ years of technical experience in the field [Preferred] 1+ years relevant experience [Preferred]
