Qualifications

  • BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Surgical Tech credential from NCCT or NBSTSA required.

Job description

We Are Hiring
  • 20k Sign-on bonus based on experience
  • Department: Burn Surgery
  • Schedule: Full-Time Days
  • Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent
  • Location: Indianapolis, IN

The CST will primarily focus on Burn Team cases and, initially, may also assist with the Main OR and Plastics.

What You Will Do

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

  1. Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes, solutions, and appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  2. Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  3. Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  4. Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument counts throughout procedures.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Surgical Tech credential from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire or transfer.
    • Surgical Tech credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire or transfer.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree/Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
Additional Preferences

2 years of burn or plastics CST experience preferred.
