Job summary

Del Sol Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support patient care under the supervision of the RN in a busy El Paso operating suite.

The role emphasizes sterile technique, instrument handling, and teamwork, with a focus on patient privacy and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start.
• High School Graduate or GED.
• Certification: TS-C (Tech in Surgery), CST, or NRST.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under RN direction using the nursing process.
• Demonstrate sterile technique and handle surgical instruments.
• Collaborate with unit staff and communicate with patients, visitors and physicians.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Participate in patient care activities with the RN.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide patient care under the direction of the RN, using the nursing process, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Del Sol Medical Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Demonstrates knowledge and application of sterile technique, instruments and supplies needed for surgical cases.

2. Communicates, interacts and participates in teamwork on the unit.

3. Practices, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff.

4. Demonstrates knowledge and respect of the patients right to privacy and protection of patient confidentiality.

5. Communicates and participates in patient care activities in direct conjunction with the Registered Nurse.

6. Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (NRST) Nationally Registered Surgical Technician
