Job summary

Jobot in Rocky Hill, CT is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the outpatient surgery team. You will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and RNs to ensure surgeries are performed safely and efficiently.

This permanent day-shift role offers a 5x8 schedule with no nights, no on-call, and no weekends. Competitive hourly pay, comprehensive benefits, 401k matching, and life/disability insurance are provided.

Qualifications

• 1 year ORTHOPEDICS experience required.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• Ambulatory surgery center experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Knowledge of OR protocols and procedures.
• Familiar with surgical instruments, sterilization and maintenance.
• Detail-oriented with ability to anticipate surgeons’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR and equipment for procedures.
• Support surgical team during procedures.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and meds.
• Assist patient care before and after procedures under RN supervision.
• Anticipate needs of the surgical team during surgeries.
• Ensure specimens are properly handled and processed.
• Maintain high standards of medical conduct and patient safety.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and compliant with health guidelines.
• Participate in analysis of procedures for patient safety.

We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This is a permanent position where you will play a critical role in patient care, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and registered nurses to ensure surgeries are carried out under optimal conditions. You will provide assistance before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Preparing the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely.
2. 2. Preparing the operating room and the patient for surgery and providing support to the surgical team during the procedure.
3. 3. Setting up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
4. 4. Performing patient care activities, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, before and after surgical procedures.
5. 5. Anticipating the needs of the surgical team and providing necessary assistance during surgeries.
6. 6. Ensuring all specimens are correctly handled and processed.
7. 7. Adhering to the highest standards of medical and professional conduct while providing care to patients.
8. 8. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area, ensuring compliance with all health and safety guidelines.
9. 9. Participating in the analysis of surgical procedure for patient safety, and recommending appropriate interventions.

Qualifications

1. 1. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in ORTHOPEDICS is REQUIRED.
2. 2. Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
3. 3. Experience in an ambulatory surgery center is highly preferred.
4. 4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
5. 5. Demonstrated knowledge of operating room protocols and procedures.
6. 6. Excellent knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment, including their use, sterilization, and maintenance.
7. 7. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons.
