The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support surgical patients by preparing the Operating Room, instruments, and supplies, while applying sterile aseptic technique to enable the surgeon's procedures. Responsibilities include passing instruments, maintaining counts of sponges, needles and instruments, and ensuring patient safety.
A graduate from an accredited surgical technology program is required, with a preference for at least one year
The Certified Surgical Tech will assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients.The Certified Surgical Tech utilizes sterile aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate thesurgeon’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Will be responsible for preparing Operating Room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies. Demonstrates correct and safe instrumentation passing and performs sponge, needle and instrument counts in a safe and accurate manner.
Must be a graduate from an accredited surgical technology program. At least 1 year of experience is preferred. AST certification oreligibilityrequired. BCLS required.
