DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Certified Surgical Technician, under the direction of the Operating Room Manager, is responsible for organizing services related to a specific or group of surgical specialty(ies) to ensure quality patient care, efficient and cost effective service, providing a focal point for information related to that service to ensure that staff and physicians have needed information; ensuring/providing continuity of care for all aspects of the perioperative period; and, managing all aspects of care to ensure that quality is assured, i.e. equipment availability; equipment functionality.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of current OR experience preferred.
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Surgical tech program preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
Current B.L.S. certificate within 6 months of employment.
CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (Within 6 months of hire.)
Other Requirements:
Ability to work well with people, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
