Qualifications

Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Garland is seeking a motivated Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. The center is a fast-paced ASC environment committed to delivering high-quality work and patient experiences.

Job Summary

Assists in providing individualized direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the OR. The Surgical Technologist scrubs for procedures, prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, and equipment. Supports the center’s philosophy, objectives, and quality improvement activities.

Experience in ENT, General Surgery (Bariatrics), GI, Gynecology, or Ophthalmology is preferred.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Responsible for scrub activities related to operative or invasive procedures in an ambulatory surgical center.
  • Experience with GI / Endoscopy procedures is a plus.
  • Work closely with the OR team in caring for adult and pediatric patients undergoing ENT, General Surgery (Bariatrics), GI / Endoscopy, Gynecology, and Ophthalmology procedures.
  • Responsible for sterile processing and care of flexible endoscopes.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
  • Understanding of aseptic techniques.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions.
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills with staff, patients, and physicians.
Position Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technician program.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology required.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in an OR setting preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of OR policies and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Conscientious, self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Commitment to staying current with field developments.
