Job summary

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services team in the Operating Room. The selected candidate will provide knowledgeable, safe and effective care to patients during the intraoperative period and will ensure proper sterilization of surgical instrumentation.

This full-time position requires effective interaction with patients and the healthcare team, certification within 6 months, and a focus on maintaining high departmental standards.

Qualifications

• Surgical Technology Certification required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required.
• Certification in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
• At least 1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide knowledgeable, safe and effective care to patients during the intraoperative period.
• Interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ensure decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instrumentation.

Description:

Additionally, will ensure knowledgeable and appropriate decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical instrumentation.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program
• Surgical Technology Certification required within 6 months of hire
• BLS certification required
• Certification in Central Sterile Processing preferred
• At least 1 year experience preferred

Hours:

This is a full-time position requiring eight (8) hours a day, Monday - Friday. On call responsibility for other shifts, holidays, and weekends as assigned. May work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
