Job summary

Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center in Bethesda, MD is seeking a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist to support sterile field management and the surgical team during ambulatory procedures. The role requires a Surgical Technician program, state certification, and knowledge of aseptic techniques; weekday shifts only with no holidays, weekends, nights, or calls.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technician Program or equivalent.
• Certification as required by state and/or center.
• Previous ambulatory surgical center experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs for surgical procedures and functions as a surgical team member.

Certified Surgical Technologist at Bethesda Chevy Chase Surgery Center

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed

Salary Range: Min $28.96 to Max $41.99. Wages are determined based upon a number of factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications and experience.
