Job Description

The surgical technologist serves as an integral part of the team of medical practitioners providing surgical care to patients. Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a circulating RN and/or physician to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

SHIFT AND SCHEDULE:

Full-time Monday - Friday Day shift, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

• Assess, project, and plan for procedural needs.
• Possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique.
• Combine knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of safe patient outcomes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate from a surgical technology program accredited through ARC/STSA, a collaborative effort of AST and ACS, by CAAHEP. Programs should be located in educational institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the USDE or The Joint Commission.
• Must become certified within 180 days of graduation if hired as a Surgical Tech I without certification.
• Experience in women’s services is preferred.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift (up to 35 lbs for clinical staff, 50 lbs for non-clinical staff), see, speak, and hear. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Bonus - Up to $15,000

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
