Certified Surgical Technician CST Fulltime Days

Fast-paced high-volume Surgery department is looking for top skilled CSTs. Is that you?

Work hours : Full Time Days, 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements.

Surgery Department highlights :

  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team.
  • Level I Trauma Candidate performing high acuity and intense surgical procedures capable of providing excellent clinical experience to the new hire.
  • Robotics, complex spine, ortho trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases are the highlights of surgical offerings at THFW.

Heres What You Need

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice Surgical Technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, or Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or Military Training Surgical Technology program.
  • At least 1 year of current Certified Surgical Tech experience strongly preferred.
  • CST Certified Surgical Technologist upon hire or LVN Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire or Military Training Program in surgical technology and Certified Surgical Technologist within 2 years upon hire.
  • BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast-paced environment, positive interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills, able to perform basic computer skills.

What You Will Do

  • Display skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcomes intraoperatively.
  • Assist as needed in coordinating patient care perioperatively and assume responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
  • Assist in providing perioperative care for a patient population including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Preoperatively, assist R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care.
  • Postoperatively, follow proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies, and equipment. Assist RN circulator with postoperative duties under supervision.
  • Assist in delivering nursing care that minimizes infection transfer and contamination.
  • Help deliver patient care that protects from injury.
  • Provide care with an emphasis on improving quality, service, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate competence in assisting with age-appropriate patient care, considering physiological and anatomical differences from infants to older adults.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
