AtlantiCare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician for the Egg Harbor Township Surgery Center. This part-time role supports the OR team under an RN, maintaining a sterile field, prepping equipment, and delivering patient care in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited surgical tech program, and NJ certification. Prior surgical experience is preferred but not required, with a focus on teamwork and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Required high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is essential.
• Current NJ Surgical Technician certification is mandatory.
• Experience in a surgical setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
• Maintain a sterile field by preparing and organizing surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team based on knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology.
• Position and move patients as directed by the perioperative RN.
• Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and report issues.
• Deliver prompt and professional patient care, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
• Work collaboratively as part of the care team to meet patient needs and departmental goals.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to excellence.
• Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually to maintain NJ certification.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Job Description

The Surgery Center Operating Room Scrub Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgical procedures. Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, you'll ensure a seamless surgical experience by maintaining a sterile field, preparing equipment, and providing patient care. Your expertise in human anatomy and pathophysiology will enable you to anticipate the surgical team's needs, and your attention to detail will contribute to a safe and efficient surgical environment.
