Job summary

AtlantiCare operates a Surgery Center that seeks a dedicated OR Scrub Technician to support surgical teams. You will maintain sterile fields, prepare equipment, and assist patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Expect collaboration with perioperative staff and ongoing education to maintain NJ certification.

You will ensure patient safety, assist with positioning, and report equipment issues promptly, contributing to a high standard of care in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program is essential.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technician in NJ is mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a surgical setting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology, especially related to surgical procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for handling surgical instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and maintain retraction for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

  • Complete 15 hours of continuing education annually to maintain NJ certification.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

The Surgery Center Operating Room Scrub Technician plays a vital role in supporting surgical procedures.
