CST PRN – Labor & Delivery Rotating Shifts

Work location:

Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032

Work hours:

PRN “as needed” with variable rotating shifts

Labor & Delivery Department Highlights:

Here’s What You Need:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a healthcare facility before September 1, 2009, required or
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or military training program in surgical technology required upon hire
  • 1 year of operating room experience preferred
  • Labor & Delivery experience preferred
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist, graduate of an accredited surgical tech program, required upon hire or
  • CST with employment practice before September 1, 2009, required upon hire or
  • CST with military training program completion, required within 2 years or
  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse, required upon hire
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • High confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment
What You Will Do:
  • Display skills and behavior conducive to desirable intra-operative outcomes
  • Assist in providing peri-operative care for diverse patient populations including infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
  • Assist RN circulator in formulating preoperative care plans
  • Coordinate patient care peri-operatively, maintaining professional standards
  • Assist with post-operative duties, including care of instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Help minimize infection risk and ensure safety during care delivery
