Position Highlights

2. Work environment: Surgery Department
3. Work hours: Full-Time Days, Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week, 6:30am - 3pm. Some weekends and holidays required. Call required.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth (THSW) is a 222-bed full-service facility offering surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Position Responsibilities

Certified Surgical Techs at THSW will assist in robotic procedures including Urologic, Gynecologic, and General Surgery. They will also support services in 10 OR suites covering Orthopedic, Spine, Podiatry, Plastics, Vascular, Gynecology, Urology, and General Surgery.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with prior employment practicing surgical technology in a healthcare setting before September 1, 2009, or
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or military surgical technology training program (upon hire).

Experience

• 1 year current operating room experience preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist, graduate of an accredited program (upon hire).
• If employed before September 1, 2009, must have practiced surgical technology in a healthcare facility.
• Military training program graduates in surgical technology (2 years required).
• LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (upon hire).
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support, maintained quarterly.
