Job summary

Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL seeks a Certified Operating Room Technician to support the Surgery department. You will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures in a busy OR.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma, ORT training or 3+ years' surgical experience, CST certification, and a current BLS credential. This is a full-time position with a variable shift availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with at least 3 years' experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Experience scrubbing across general and specialty surgeries (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years' experience (surgical setting preferred).3. Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.4. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).5. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
