Job summary

Qualifications

• Formal training in surgical technology or PN program completed.
• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• 0–2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures.
• Handle instruments/equipment per policy, including inspection and sterilization.
• Count sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping as directed by the RN.
• Support maintenance of physician preference cards and documentation.
• Restock supplies and prepare rooms for subsequent cases.
