IHA in Mishawaka, Indiana seeks a Surgical Technologist for a weekend on-call role. You will prepare for scheduled operations, set up sterile instrument tables, assist surgeons by passing instruments and retractors, and anticipate needs during procedures.
Candidates should have NBSTA certification, CPR certification, and at least 2 years of OR experience; military surgical tech training or grandfathered prior to 2009 is acceptable with documentation; 90-day NBSTA certification window applies.

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA). If qualifying education is from military or due to grandfathering those active prior to 2009, must possess or be able to obtain certification by the NBSTA within 90 days of hire. CPR certification on hire or able to obtain within 60 days.
2 years in operating room as a surgical technologist preferred.
Knowledge of operating room procedures. Knowledge of patient safety procedures. Skilled in effective participation on surgical team. Skilled in safety and infection control procedures. Skilled in equipment maintenance.
