Job summary

Wellstar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Enterprise Support Team (WEST). The role entails providing float coverage across multiple facilities, assisting with complex surgical cases, and mastering advanced techniques.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of recent experience in a hospital surgical setting, hold necessary certifications, and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program or LPN with surgical experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required; Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) required; LPN accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA required.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a hospital surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical environment: set up the sterile field, gather instruments and supplies, ensure patient safety.
• Support the surgical team: assist with instrumentation, perform counts and support time-outs.
• Champion quality care & safety: follow evidence-based practices and safety standards.
• Be a team player & mentor: train new team members and assist with room turnover.
