Job summary

HCA Healthcare Brentwood Surgery Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room under RN supervision. You will scrub and assist the surgeon, help with patient prep, and ensure sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role emphasizes adherence to the Association of Surgical Technologists standards and collaboration with nursing staff to support safe, effective operating room care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Surgical Tech Certification.
• One year operating room experience preferred.
• BCLS certification required at employment; online certification not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate necessary practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the role of the surgical technician.
• Assist in preparing the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Assist in the turnover of the operating room suites between cases, disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning of equipment and environmental surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day by bringing in equipment, setting up, pulling cases accurately, and reporting shortages to supervisor.
