The role you’ll contribute: Under general supervision, a surgical scrub technician/nurse assists with patient care during surgery by performing technical and delegated duties. Acts as a member of the surgical team, serving as a scrub person by providing care to surgical patients across different age groups as per unit standards. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and all applicable regulations. Participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all.

• Performs the role of surgical scrub by anticipating the surgeon's needs and informing the circulating nurse throughout the procedure. Ensures all supplies, equipment, and medications are prepared prior to surgery.
• Maintains high standards and quality, contributing to cost savings and efficiency.
• Assists with operating room turnover times in an organized manner, directing ancillary personnel as needed. Supports the surgical team as required.
• Supervises other healthcare team members in the surgical environment, assisting with orientation, training, and education of new staff.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Tech: Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
