• The surgical technician functions as a cooperative team member in the Surgical Services department by demonstrating the ability to provide constant technical assistance to the surgeon within his or her scope of practice.
• The surgical technician follows the current professional practice standards, rules and regulations set forth by AORN and AST.
• The surgical technician must be willing to cross train and float to meet the needs of the institution.
