Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a full-time, day shift Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support the surgeon in the sterile field across a range of procedures. You will scrub and circulate under supervision, ensuring all sterile supplies and equipment are ready and compliant with policy.

Preferred candidates hold CST or NCC certification and are committed to annual continuing education and completing BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC required.
• Annual 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.

Responsabilités

• Perform scrub duties across varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure necessary sterile supplies and equipment are available for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under direct RN supervision.
• Adhere to hospital, state, and departmental policies and procedures.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

Responsibilities:

• The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures that the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensures adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements:

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
• Minimum of one (1) year as a Certified Surgical Technologist.

Rate of pay isdeterminedbased on experience andeducation, andmay include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
