Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis, part of Tenet Healthcare, is looking for a Surgical Technician to support operating room procedures. The role requires aseptic technique, scrubbing and passing instruments, and contributing to day-to-day OR operations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program is required.
• BLS and Surgical Technology certification are required.
• Associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and sterile supplies for assigned cases.
• Scrub and pass instruments during procedures.
• Pull and breakdown cases; prepare OR for next schedule.
• Be available for call on scheduled basis as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Surgical Technician demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases;
• Scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures
• Pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required:
  • Education: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program
  • Licensure/Certification: BLS, Surgical Technology certification.
• Preferred:
  • Education: Associate degree
  • Experience: 1 year
