Job summary

Orbis Surgery Center is seeking a full-time certified Surgical Scrub Tech to join our perioperative team near the medical center. The role involves assisting the physician performing operative and invasive procedures while maintaining aseptic technique and patient safety.

The candidate should have completed certification; we offer training and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401K and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic technique and advanced surgical techniques, with strong patient-care skills.
• Verifies functioning and availability of supplies/instruments prior to procedures as indicated by surgeon’s preference.
• Ensures safe patient care adhering to policies, procedures, and standards within budget and time constraints.
• Supports professional growth, serves as preceptor/mentor, and provides orientation and training to staff.
• Other duties as assigned and evolving with the OR team.

Job description

Orbis Surgery Center is seeking a full-time certified Surgical Scrub Tech to join our team near the medical center. Position requires occasional travel to our Clear Lake location. Orbis Surgery Center provides state of the art care to patients with a focus on those with end stage renal disease who require dialysis access care. The Surgical Scrub Tech provides perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Position works under the direction of the Director of Nursing and functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• - Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique, advanced surgical techniques and practice of patient care techniques; performs duties in an expert manner according to the age/needs of the patient/population served.
• - Verifies functioning and adequate availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to the surgical procedure as indicated by the surgeon's preference card and other available resources; demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner that provides for optimal patient care in the OR.
• - Ensures safe care to patients adhering to policies, procedures, and standards of care, within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, and accuracy of practice.
• - Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff; provides orientation and in-service training to department personnel.
• - Other duties as assigned.
