Job summary

Montrose Regional Health is seeking a dedicated Instrument Technician to assemble and pass surgical instruments, ensuring readiness for diverse procedures in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental and Urology cases.

You will operate under supervision within the Surgical Services Department, supporting the OR team and contributing to safe patient care in a high-demand setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• BCLS certification required.
• Experience with OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental and Urology cases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble instrumentation for surgical cases.
• Pass instruments and medications as directed by the surgeon.
• Assist and anticipate needs of the surgical team during procedures.
• Work under supervision of OR Clinical Coordinator and Nursing leadership.

About The Department:

• The Surgical Services Department at Montrose Regional Health is committed to providing quality surgical services and improve the quality of life for our patients. We provide surgical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

About The Career:

• Functions as an instrument technician, coordinating and assembling appropriate instrumentation for each individual case, passing instrumentation, appropriate medications, and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Follows the established plan of care and provides direct surgical care interventions within the scope of practice. Works under the supervision of the OR Clinical Coordinator, Director of Surgical Services and/or RN (Circulator). Collaborates with unit/hospital staff and other health professionals.

All About You:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Training & Experience: BCLS Certification. Must have had experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Urology cases.
• Job Knowledge: Knowledge of surgical instrumentation - use, care, and cleaning. Ability to manage instruments in the variety of cases listed above.
