Job summary

Montrose Regional Health in Montrose, CO is seeking an Instrument Technician to coordinate and assemble instrumentation for each case, pass instruments, anticipate surgeon needs, and support the plan of care under supervision. The role provides direct surgical care interventions within scope, collaborating with OR staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation - use, care, and cleaning.
• Ability to manage instruments across OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental and Urology cases.

Responsibilities

• Functions as an instrument technician, coordinating and assembling instrumentation for each case and passing instruments.
• Supports the surgeon by anticipating needs and following the established plan of care under supervision.

• The Surgical Services Department at Montrose Regional Health is committed to providing quality surgical services and improve the quality of life for our patients. We provide surgical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

About The Career:

• Functions as an instrument technician, coordinating and assembling appropriate instrumentation for each individual case, passing instrumentation, appropriate medications, and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Follows the established plan of care and provides direct surgical care interventions within the scope of practice. Works under the supervision of the OR Clinical Coordinator, Director of Surgical Services and/or RN (Circulator). Collaborates with unit/hospital staff and other health professionals.

All About You:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Training & Experience: BCLS Certification. Must have had experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Urology cases.
• Job Knowledge: Knowledge of surgical instrumentation - use, care, and cleaning. Ability to manage instruments in the variety of cases listed above.
