Job summary

Interim HealthCare Staffing is seeking a Certified Surgical/Scrub Technician (Part Time) to support surgical teams across multiple Minneapolis–Burnsville sites. The role involves scrubbing for procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining sterile technique, with flexible 6:30am–6-7pm shifts, M-F.

Competitive pay and benefits are offered. Shifts are casual, roughly 2-3 per week, with float between Burnsville and Minneapolis locations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate's CST program or NCCT certification.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical/hospital setting as a CST.
• Knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and orthopedic procedures.
• Understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Effective communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team by setting up and scrubbing for procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments promptly.
• Assist with OR cleaning and restocking.
• Maintain sterile technique and sterile field during surgery.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and anesthesia team.

Certified Surgical/Scrub Technician- Part Time

Schedule/Shifts: Casual hours (filling in for sick/vacation shifts, expected to be roughly around 2-3 shifts/week).

Schedule: Shifts could vary from as early as a 6:30am start to 6-7pm end time. Shifts will beM-F. Must have the flexibility to accommodate late notice schedule changes.

Location: Shifts will float between Burnsville and Minneapolis locations.

Pay rate: $52- to $60 per hour depending on experience!

*Must be Certified as a Surgical/Scrub Technician by CST or NCCT

Position Summary:

• Utilizing your skills to assist the surgical team, set up and scrub for all surgical procedures
• Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments and providing sterile items in an efficient manner.
• Assists with OR cleaning and restocking.
• Follow AAMI/AORN recommended practices for decontamination/sterilization of instruments.
• Cleans, wraps and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Operating as the sterile team member during surgical procedures - Maintaining aseptic technique and sterile field while anticipating the surgeon's needs.
• Incorporating knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to anticipate the patients and surgeons needs
• Proficient in the application of sterile technique in all aspects of patient care.
• Competent in the use of surgical instruments, supplies and equipment to provide patient care, troubleshooting minor malfunctions
• Effective communication as a team
• Work collaboratively with the surgical team consisting of physicians, nurses and anesthesia team.
• Prepare for surgery including draping for sterile field, preparing instruments and assisting the surgeon

What we require of yo

• Diploma or Associate's from an accredited CST program OR NCCT certification
• 1 Year of experience working in a clincal/hospital setting as a Certified Surgical Tech
• Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Reliable transportation to accommodate the floating expectation of the role.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including appropriate use of English grammar and spelling
• Demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities and interruptions.
