Role Overview: A surgical first assistant plays a vital role in successful surgical procedures, assisting surgeons by arranging and handing over tools, holding open incisions, and dressing surgical wounds.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Completion of a Surgical Technician Program
• NBSTSA Surgical First Assistant Certification
• At least two years of experience as a Certified Surgical First Assistant in multiple specialties or an equivalent education and experience
• Orthopedic experience required
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to anatomy and surgical procedures
• Willing to train new graduates
