Job summary

Parkview Health in Indiana seeks a Certified Surgical First Assistant to join the perioperative team. Under the perioperative leader, you will anticipate needs of the patient, surgeon and team, assist the surgeon to expose anatomy, maintain hemostasis, and help complete the operation safely and efficiently.

The role requires completing an ARC/STSA-accredited surgical assisting program, NBSTSA CSFA certification, CPR, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Health care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from ARC/STSA-accredited surgical assisting program by CAAHEP.
• CSFA certification through NBSTSA and CPR certification current.
• Health care experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50–100 pounds.
• Knowledge of hemostasis, retracting and suturing techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon to provide exposure and maintain hemostasis.
• Support the operation to be completed safely and expeditiously.
• Maintain patient and team confidentiality.
