Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a certified Surgical First Assistant to join the Surgery department for Per Diem day shifts. Qualifications

• Certification required from a recognized certifying body (NSC, NBSTSA or ABSA).
• Five years of acute care OR scrub experience preferred.
• Current BLS for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association.
• Proficiency across multiple specialties: Major Vascular, Thoracic, Open Heart, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, General.

Responsibilities

• Assist with exposure, hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative tasks to enable safe operations.
• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to support patient care.
• Operate under surgeon direction in accordance with policy and regulations.
